Wally was cleaning Joey’s office one day when he heard the phone ring. Joey was at a meeting, and he was told that if the phone rang he had to pick it up. “Hello. This is Joey Drew Studios! May I ask whose calling!?”

“Hi. Is Joey Drew here?” The person asked over the phone.

“Um no. He’s at a meeting right now, but I’ll let you know he called. May I ask whose calling?”

“My name is Rebecca, and thank you.” Rebecca hanged up and Wally did the same. Wally thought long and hard at whom Rebecca is. Joey wasn’t married, and he never dated. So who was she? A friend? Sister? Neighbor? Cousin?

Just as Wally was about to be done, Joey came back to his office. “Hey Wally!” He said in his happy tone.

Wally faced his boss. “Hey Joey! Can I ask you something?” He asked.

“Sure. Though I may or may not have an answer.” Joey went to sit down in his chair as he reviewed the paper work from the meeting.

“Well do you know someone by the name of Rebecca?” Wally asked.

Joey dropped the papers and looked at the janitor in fear. “Rebecca? As in Rebecca Springdale?” He asked.

“Crap I didn’t get her last name.” Wally thought. “Um… I don’t know but it was a woman.”

Joey sighed, got up and checked to see no one is around and closed the blinds, which caused the rest of the blinds to close at the same time. Wally was spooked on how Joey could do that. “Look Wally, no one, not even Henry should know about this, but Rebecca was my crush!” Joey freaked out.

Wally chuckled, he never expected his boss to have a crush. “Wait you had a crush?”

“Yes!” He snapped making Wally back up to the wall. Joey sighed. “When we we’re young Rebecca followed me everywhere, she had a massive crush on me!” He complained.

“Ooh.” Wally’s eyes widen. Joey glared at the janitor, making the later gulp and hold in the rest of his laughter. “So…what happened then?”

Joey sighed, “I tried to tell her I wasn’t that interested in her, but she wouldn’t listen.”

Wally chuckles, he could relate somewhat. He had a friend, who’s a girl, and his siblings would always tease him about his crush, even though she wasn’t. All she was is his friend.

“So throughout our childhood, I just wanted us to be close friends. It wasn’t until I left for the newspaper she stopped bothering me, got married to a wealthy man and had a beautiful family.” Joey continued.

Wally smiled. “That’s good.” Joey smiled back. “Well Rebecca left me her phone number, she wanted to call you.”

“Why?” Joey asked.

Wally shrugged. Joey looked at the phone, nervously and back at the janitor. “Go on, she’s married right. So talk to her for a bit.”

“You sure?” Joey asked again. Wally nodded. “I’ll call, but you need to leave.”

Wally gave a salute and left the room, as Joey made the call.

Wally waited outside Joey’s office, he heard a bit of the conversation, but it was very vivid he didn’t know what they were talking about. Once he heard the phone hang up, and Joey coming out of his office, what he saw surprised him.

Joey put his hands on his face shaking it. “Is something wrong?” Wally asked.

Joey removed his hands and looked at the janitor. “Well that was Rebecca, and she apologized everything to me. Turns out she’s sick, and I don’t think she’ll make it.” Wally stood in shock, hearing this. “I would visit her, but she lives in the other side of the US, so I forgave her and said our goodbyes because, I don’t think I’ll get too.”

“Joey. I’m so, so, sorry.” Wally whispered.

Joey looked at the janitor and gave him a small smile. “It’s not your fault, but at least she regrets her actions.” Joey looked down, and Wally put his arm around his boss for comfort.
